the TriTown Titans Program
TriTown Titans softball is a highly competitive softball program that begins in
late June and ends in early August. Teams are made up of players from
Topsfield, Boxford and Middleton, and players must try out to be considered for
placement on a team. Due to the competitive nature of these games, the TriTown
Titans program cannot guarantee that all players that try out will make a team,
but we encourage all players to attend the tryout sessions.
are played as (1) home game per week at Klock Park in Topsfield, and (1) away
game per week. All games start at 6:15pm and require that players arrive to the
field 45 minutes prior to the start of each game for warm ups. Practice is
scheduled by the head coach and attendance is mandatory. Please keep in mind
that this program requires that players attend the majority of the games and
practice (80% or more) during this short summer season to ensure the team
remains competitive week in and week out.
Age and Teams
TriTown Titans program will typically field (1) team for each age level (U12,
U14 and U18). Teams typically play in the B division for their respective age
group. If a team is highly skilled, they may be placed in the A division to
ensure games are competitive. Players should attend the try out session that
best matches their age group. Note that a girls’ softball age is determined
based on her age as of January 1st of the current year – this dictates which
team she can play on. While younger players with advanced skills can play up,
older players cannot play down in an age group.
U18 players must be 18 years or younger on 1/1/18.
U14 players must be 14 years or younger on 1/1/18.
U12 players must be 12 years or younger on 1/1/18.
Registration for Team Placement
registration will begin once teams are finalized announced. The fee for 2017
was $110 plus uniform (if a player does not already have a uniform – these are
available at SewForth in Middleton). Any adjustment to the fees for 2018 will
be announced prior to player registration. Instructions for payment and player
registration will be sent to the players that were invited to play on each

The Topsfield Women’s Softball League is an over 25 league with 8 teams. We play with no umpires, no balls or strikes, and use one page of simple rules that exclude sliding, bunting, leading, and pass balls. The games are fun and competitive in a low-key way, and the skill levels of the players range from women who played in high school and college to some who have never played before.
The games are played every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. starting June 19th and ending August 21st at Pyebrook Park in Topsfield.
The cost per player is $35. Please complete the registration through SportsPilot.
Please contact Anna Ganick with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Online registration will open in February each year, with games starting in April.
Girl’s softball is divided into 3 age groups:
All 3 age groups play in the Essex County Women’s Softball League (www.essexcountysoftball.com) against girls from surrounding towns. There are normally 2 games per week. Home games are played at Emerson and Klock fields. Coaches typically hold practices once per week. Shirts, visors and socks are provided to each player. Shirts are returned to the TAA at the end of the season while visors and socks are kept by the player.
Farm and junior leagues play with an 11” softball and have restricted rules such as no stealing. Seniors play with a 12” softball and closely follow high school softball rules. Emphasis is on learning skills and having fun. Skill development includes: hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, pitching, base running and game situations.
