About the TriTown Titans Program

The TriTown Titans softball is a highly competitive softball program that competes in the MiddleEssex summer softball league. The MiddleEssex summer softball program is the largest summer softball program in New England!

The TriTown Titans program is designed to prepare players for high school softball The teams in this league are typically made up of select players from the town spring program.

Games begin in late June and the season ends in early August. Teams are made up of select  players from Topsfield, Boxford and Middleton.

Players must try out to be considered for placement on a team. Due to the competitive nature of these games, and limited roster spots,  the TriTown Titans program cannot guarantee that all players that try out will make a team. However, we encourage all players that have an interest to attend the tryout sessions if they are interested in learning more about the game, and competing at a high level.

Games are played as (1) home game per week at Klock Park in Topsfield, and (1) away game per week. All games start at 6:15pm and require that players arrive to the field 45 minutes prior to the start of each game for warm ups. Practice is scheduled by the head coach and attendance is mandatory.

Please keep in mind that this program requires that players attend the majority of the games (10 of 14 games). Attendence to practices are a crucial key to the success of the team, and are designed to develop the skills and knowledge needed to play at a higher level.

Players Age and Teams

The TriTown Titans program will typically field (1) team for each age level (U10, U12, U14 and U18). Teams typically play in the B division for their respective age group. If a team is highly skilled, they may be placed in the A division to ensure games are competitive.

Players should attend the try out session that best matches their age group. Tryouts are announced through your town program, and require that each player register for tryouts. We highly recommend that new players attend BOTH tryouts to ensure they are properly evaluated. Tryouts typically occur in mid-May.

Note that a girls’ softball age is determined based on her age as of January 1st of the current year – this dictates which team she can play on. While younger players with advanced skills can play up, older players cannot play down in an age group.

· U18 players must be 18 years or younger on January 1st.

· U14 players must be 14 years or younger on January 1st.

· U12 players must be 12 years or younger on January 1st.

· U10 players must be 10 years or younger on January 1st.

Player Registration for Team Placement

Player registration will begin once teams are finalized announced. The fee is $125 plus the cost for a uniform (if a player does not already have a uniform – these are available at SewForth in Middleton). Instructions for payment and player registration will be sent to the players that were invited to play on each team.

Women's Softball

The Topsfield Women’s Softball League is an over 25 league with 8 teams.  We play with no umpires, no balls or strikes, and use one page of simple rules that exclude sliding, bunting, leading, and pass balls. The games are fun  and competitive in a low-key way, and the skill levels of the players range from women who played in high school and college to some who have never played before.

The games are played every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. starting June 19th and ending August 21st at Pyebrook Park in Topsfield. The cost per player is $35.
