The Topsfield Women’s Softball League is an over 25 league with 8 teams. We play with no umpires, no balls or strikes, and use one page of simple rules that exclude sliding, bunting, leading, and pass balls. The games are fun and competitive in a low-key way, and the skill levels of the players range from women who played in high school and college to some who have never played before.
The games are played every Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. starting June 19th and ending August 21st at Pyebrook Park in Topsfield. The cost per player is $35.

Girl’s softball is divided into 3 age groups:
All 3 age groups play in the Essex County Women’s Softball League (www.essexcountysoftball.com) against girls from surrounding towns. There are normally 2 games per week. Home games are played at Emerson and Klock fields. Coaches typically hold practices once per week. Shirts, visors and socks are provided to each player. Shirts are returned to the TAA at the end of the season while visors and socks are kept by the player.
Farm and junior leagues play with an 11” softball and have restricted rules such as no stealing. Seniors play with a 12” softball and closely follow high school softball rules. Emphasis is on learning skills and having fun. Skill development includes: hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, pitching, base running and game situations.
